Sendmail delivering to local users instead of same named user on remote domain

On host "hiram" I send to user mfoley@novatec-inc.com. However, the message is delivered to mfoley on host "hiram", not to that user on novatec-inc.com:

[184.57.60.212], dsn=2.0.0, stat=Sent (xBGLnNQG011255 Message accepted for delivery)Above is a maillog entry from the day before showing mailer=relay, and the message was delivered to mfoley@novatec-inc.com.
I can't think of anything I've changed, but there must be something. Need assistance on this.
