Very Basic Question

I'm seeking a Linux alternative to my Windows 7 Professional, and to that end I've created a USB boot drive for the Zorin OS.
Working in "Try" mode, I've successfully downloaded and configured my favorite web browser (Vivaldi). But the next time I boot up, it's gone.
Is that because I haven't actually installed Zorin yet?
