Butler was engaged with Colts guard Mark Glowinski prior to hitting Doyle, and the two players fell into the tight end.
It's not the first such incident Doyle has been involved in this season. The 29-year-old was on the receiving end of a vicious headshot from Vontaze Burfict, and the Oakland Raiders linebacker received an indefinite suspension.
Butler racked up 29 tackles and six sacks prior to Week 16.
