New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas broke Marvin Harrison's single-season record of 143 catches during the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans.

Thomas moved passed Harrison, who set the all-time mark in 2002, with his 11th grab of the day.

That's the record-breaker. Michael Thomas makes his 144th reception, a new single-season record!

The 26-year-old made the historic grab on a play that was ruled just short of a touchdown. But Thomas wasn't to be denied, catching a two-yard touchdown pass from Drew Brees moments later.

With New Orleans still battling for a first-round bye, Thomas should get a chance to extend his record.

Thomas entered Week 16 easily leading the league in catches (133) and yards (1,552). His closest competitors were DeAndre Hopkins (104 catches) and Chris Godwin (1,333 yards).

Before 2019, only four players had ever caught 125 or more passes in one season. Thomas did it last year, joining Antonio Brown (129 in 2014, 136 in 2015), Julio Jones (136 in 2015), and Harrison.

Thomas also took another record from a Hall of Fame receiver, surpassing Randy Moss (5,396) for most receiving yards through a player's first four NFL seasons.
