Failed to increase the size of GuestSystem Hard Disc in VirtualBox 6.1

Please direct me how to solve increasing the size of .vdi disk file on Linux Mint 19.3

I tried from terminal with VBoxManage modifymedium but I don't get to change the actual size, at least not visible on the Guest System. Also could not find anything useful in the previous posts on this topic
