Any way to stop mouse cursor from moving while a bound key is held?

I got myself one of those fancy drawing tablet doohickeys, and it's great for drawing, but:
It's not so great for hovering over some GUI element to get a tooltip unless I pull back my hand, which can get annoying.

So, I'm looking for something I can xbindkey or similar that freezes the mouse in place while my spazzmatic old hand jerks around like the tail of an overly excited puppy.

Again, for drawing it's okay because the lines only appear when the nib is touching the tablet, grounding the convulsions somewhat.
I just need a momentary hold so the GUI relaxes and gives me the name of color swatches and other settings since my other hand is on the express key remote/keyboard.

My first thought is xdotool but I can't think of an immediate way that doesn't involve spamming its process, but maybe it has functionality like that I don't know about.
It just has to go remote-keydown-> mouse stays put, remote-keyup->tablet can make mouse jump around again.latest?d=yIl2AUoC8zA latest?i=Wzmh0WLUf4g:N0jOW6-67Lk:F7zBnMy latest?i=Wzmh0WLUf4g:N0jOW6-67Lk:V_sGLiP latest?d=qj6IDK7rITs latest?i=Wzmh0WLUf4g:N0jOW6-67Lk:gIN9vFwWzmh0WLUf4g
