The Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings duke it out on Monday Night Football to close out Week 16. Here are the best player props for the prime-time clash.
Aaron Rodgers over 33.5 passing attemptsThe initial thought process with this prop was that Rodgers could rack up some yards against a secondary that's trended down as the season's progressed. But Rodgers hasn't had all that much success against the Vikings in the past, averaging just shy of 230 yards through the air over his last three tilts against them. Still, the matchup itself presents some upside for the pass-attempt volume to be there.
Minnesota is No. 4 in rush DVOA and allows fewer than 100 yards on the ground per game; the Packers can't simply line up and bully the Vikings' front seven. Rodgers is also a pretty sizable underdog - Green Bay is +5 - which could potentially put the offense in a negative game script. And with a rather high total of 47, Rodgers should be dropping back plenty.
Stefon Diggs longest reception over 25.5 yardsDiggs has become one of the most underrated deep threats in the league, shattering his previous career-high of 13.8 yards per catch over a single season. He's currently at 17.9 this year, with only three NFL receivers better in that department. The fifth-year wideout has had a catch for at least 26 yards in seven of his last nine games and has another solid matchup to make it eight of 10: The Packers rank 25th in explosive pass rate allowed and the secondary is No. 16 in pass DVOA.
Mike Boone over 67.5 rushing yardsGiven the injuries in the Vikings' backfield, it'll be Boone, the second-year man out of Cincinnati, shouldering the load on the ground. He's seen some action in garbage time this season, averaging 4.6 yards per rush and scoring twice. His first career start is an ideal matchup against a Green Bay rush defense that's No. 25 in DVOA. And if Minnesota gets a lead and takes its foot off the gas pedal, Boone should see the volume to get over this number.
