Idle time of tigervnc user
by isaac.dvorz from LinuxQuestions.org on (#4X72V)
Hello everyone,
I'm working with Debian 9 on a Linode VPS and I have configured 14 users , each with a vnc connection, using "tigervnc", the users use connect to the desktop and surf using Chrome browser, all works great.
Now I'm looking to improve performance and one easy way that I saw works is to minimize the chrome window when it's not at work and now I'm looking for a way to identify idle time for these users (they do not appear in "w" command) and if I'll have that info I think I will be able to write a script to minimize chrome... unless someone tells me there is already a program that will do that :)
I've already tried xprintidle, but it returns "couldn't open display"
(I hope "desktop" is the right forum for this question :|)
Thanks
