dolphin's file copying behavior translated to console

Hey there. Often when I try to move or copy files from one directory to another, they are often in identical subdirectories on the source and target paths. Dolphin asks whether I'd like to "Write into" this folder and additionally "skip" any existing files. How would I replicate this behavior into on the command line to make a script to accomplish this?
