[SOLVED] sed command -replace html tags

Hello all ,
i need to replace <i> tags with <em> tags .
For example :
<i>Hello World ! SOS </i>.
To:
<em> Hello World ! SOS </em>
This is what i tried : sed -r 's/<\/?i[^>]*>/<\/em[^>]*>/g'
