Philadelphia Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins will seek a raise for the second straight offseason, but this time around he's prepared to take a harder stance.

"I won't be back on the same deal," he told reporters Monday, according to Rob Maaddi of The Associated Press. "That won't happen. The market is good for safeties now. I consider myself in the top tier."

Jenkins provided the Eagles with another year of stability at safety in 2019 while the rest of the secondary struggled. He finished the regular season with 81 tackles, four forced fumbles, 2.5 sacks, and eight pass breakups, and appeared in all 16 games for the sixth consecutive campaign.

Jenkins, who turned 32 in December, will enter the offseason with one year and $7.85 million remaining on his contract. He sought a revised deal last summer, saying he had outplayed his current one, but didn't get it. He skipped voluntary offseason activities last year but attended all mandatory sessions.

"Something's got to get done," the defensive captain said, via NBC Sports Philadelphia's Reuben Frank.
