How to Be Sudo User In Ubuntu System

Hello Everyone,
I am in learning stage of linux.
i recently installed ubuntu,there is only single user on my system,but whenever i install any of the software, it always ask me,for root access.how can i switch to that root access, please help me out in this. Thank You :)
