Video storage S7 Edge

I'm on Android-8.0.0 patch level 1 (thinks: why isn't that 8.0.1?)
I want to be able to store video directly on an sd card, as my son has a unique act and does live gigs. The idea was to grab a 64G or 128G card, video the entire gig, stopping after each song, and let him edit the results. He's very half-assed about getting his stuff online. The S7 Edge mic seems adequate, and I can stick in an external one if it isn't. I just need to get videos to be sent to SD.
Alternatively, could I overflow storage to sd card? That would be really neat.
