Report: Vikings to talk long-term extension with Cook during offseason
There's one more season left on Dalvin Cook's rookie contract, and this offseason the Minnesota Vikings will work on securing him long term.
The Vikings and Cook's agent plan to meet in the offseason to discuss an extension, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.
While an agreement isn't guaranteed this year, Minnesota would eventually prefer to work out a long-term pact with the 2019 Pro Bowler.
Cook is making just over $1 million this season, and he'll earn $1.33 million in 2020.
The 24-year-old shattered previous career highs in 2019 with 1,135 rushing yards, 519 receiving yards, and 13 touchdowns across 14 contests. He rushed for 94 yards and a pair of scores in last week's wild-card win over the New Orleans Saints.
