Screen and Audio recording

I am starting my Linux adventure and have chosen Mint. Like most I'm coming from Windows. On my currently have Flashback Express for screen recording. What would be a good Linux alternative that? I want one that can record in the MP4 format or can convert to it. And what is the best audio recorder? Preferably one that only records the sound card and computer mics. Thanks and I'll probably have more questions.
