Pc build going south

Hi all
I'm in the middle of a pc build and have ran into several issues and am needing advice.
Specs:
Motherboard- gigabyte GA-X79-UD5 (r 1.0)
CPU- intel i7 3680
Memory- Corsair ddr3 1600 (vengeance)
Graphics card- AMD FirePro W7100
Seems like a good combo but unfortunately the condition of the motherboard,CPU and graphics card are unknown. Got them for free during a friend's cleanup.
Problem: 1
using a thermaltake 850watt PSU I have everything seems to be working however I can't get post or bios as this graphics card uses DisplayPort 1.2. I have a converter cable to hdmi but still no picture and I dunno if it's active or not. Any suggestions on how to get a screen going would be great. The power supply I used for testing is 100% adequate.

This motherboard is a socket LGA2011 what year is this socket? Any good?
I don't want to spend too much money if this is all junk
