"cinnamon just crashed you are currently running in Fallback Mode."
I know this has been asked before, but the latest answer I found was from 2019 with no solution for my situation. Just loaded Linux Mint Debian Edition on Dell Inspiron N5040, new Samsung 2TB hdd, 8G memory, Intel graphics. Crash occurred after running update/upgrade via CLI. Had same crash error when installed VirtualBox on Windows 7 pc. Was hoping it was VB.
Solved:Running Update Manager via taskbar icon fixed problem. Running Update Manager also fixed crash on VirtualBox install.
