Ryan Tannehill named NFL Comeback Player of the Year
Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill was named the NFL's 2019 Comeback Player of the Year on Saturday.
He edged out San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo by a single vote.

Tannehill was installed as the Titans' starting quarterback after they began the year 2-4. The veteran took over in Week 7 and went 7-3 as a starter while leading Tennessee to a wild-card playoff berth.
Under his guidance, Tennessee then upset the New England Patriots and top-seeded Baltimore Ravens to reach the AFC Championship Game. On the doorstep of a trip to the Super Bowl, the Titans lost 35-24 to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Tannehill surprised by throwing for 2,742 yards and 22 touchdowns with just six interceptions. He recorded a passer rating of 117.5.
He spent his first six seasons with the Miami Dolphins. But after failing to display the potential that warranted the eighth overall selection in the 2012 draft, Tannehill was let go following the 2018 campaign. He signed a one-year, $2-million contract with Tennessee, and the 31-year-old will likely command a lucrative new deal after his award-winning 2019 season.
