Google's Stadia game streaming service needs all the help it can get if it aims to be a household name. One of the service's current problems is its lackluster assortment of games. Fortunately for Google, Unity has come to Stadia's aid with the 2019.3 Unity update. The game engine now officially supports Stadia as a publishing platform. Unity's blog detailing the changes and new features in the update reads:

We now offer support for everything that approved developers need to create and ship their first game on Google's new cloud gaming platform. Interested developers should start the process with an application for resources on Google's Stadia developer website.

The Stadia developer team also published a blog that goes into more detail on Unity support. Developers who go through Stadia's application process will gain Unity support for State Share, Stream Connect, and the Stadia controller. John Justice, the Stadia VP and Head of Product made the following statement:

Unity has been a tremendous partner since day one, helping Stadia build a developer-friendly environment. It's a crucial relationship that's bolstered our efforts to attract some of the world's best game development talent. With Unity providing production-ready support for approved developers, gamers can look forward to more incredible Stadia games joining the roster.
