hplip and slackware, hp-setup, hp envy 4512

hplip is apparently not on my machine

ran ~#hp-setup and it failed for lack of a hplip file

...has a ver of hplip 3.19.12 but, Slackware is NOT in the drop-down box for Distros.

so, if ~#hp-setup cannot find hplip ...then, it is either not here and i nd to download it or it's here but i must run an install script on it?

if i nd to download it i would imagine i download it to my home directory then what..is it a tar -sgv issue from there?

does anyone have a good link for me to brush-up on my tar skills?

i'm not sure what Step#1 is if ~#hp-setup can't find hplip
