As much as we like a good mechanical switch, sometimes circumstances force us to look for a slightly healthier tool to make letters appear on our screens. In the lab right now, we have Logitech's Ergo K860 keyboard, the first ergonomic effort from the company's keyboard side.

We're still getting our impressions down with the keyboard, we can offer up an idea of what this thing offers.

The Ergo K860 is a full-size ten-key keyboard; it uses a raised and split ergonomic design intended to provide support and better posture for the person at the keyboard.

The keys themselves are Logitech's Perfect Stroke keys, which use a scissor-style mechanic to depress. They're low-profile, behaving more like a laptop keyboard or the Logitech Craft keyboard. The board has an attached wrist rest that uses a coated fabric meant to find a balance between comfort and durability. With two sets of feet at the front of the keyboard, the board offers three angles - 0, 4, and 7. It can connect to up to three devices using Bluetooth or Logitech's Unifying Receiver technology. In lieu of dedicated media keys, the keyboard uses the Function keys at the top of the keyboard as dual-use F1-12 keys and shortcut functions.

Two AAA batteries power the keyboard, which Logitech says will last around two years under average use.

This is a solid-looking office-oriented keyboard meant more to keep your wrists and back healthy than it is to give you an edge in PVP. We're looking forward to digging into it and coming back with our impressions.

Even without putting my hands on the board, it offers quite a few of my must-have features. Multi-device support is crucial since I use a Mac and a PC in my daily work. The long battery life and a built-in ten-key are must-haves, too. I'll get into my full thoughts on the review in the next couple of weeks.
