Alternative to Thunderbird

Thunderbird is hardly usable nowadays. No colours, font and text size changing at random, often while typing, preferences having to be reset every day. It's just not worth it.
Can anyone suggest a more user-friendly alternative that's compatible with Ubuntu 18.04?
