FLOSS support by board partners (ASUS, MSI, XFX, etc.)
by ballsystemlord from LinuxQuestions.org on (#4ZAZA)
Hi guys!
I was thinking about how the board partners through out the years have often included SW for windowz with the products that they sell. I know that they don't do this for Linux and that the big chip designers/manufactures (AMD, Intel, and Nvidia), sometimes create open-source drivers but not much else for Linux users.
For those how don't know, here's a list of common board partners which we depend on for PC components like MBs and GPUs: ASUS, ASRock, Biostar, CORN, EVGA, Gigabyte, MSI, PowerColor, Sapphire, XFX, Zotac.
I was wondering, do board partners support Linux in other ways? Do they have FLOSS teams in the companies that contribute to the ecosystem?
Thanks!
