Setting up my own email hosting (gateway) on as debian box ?

Hi, I am not a newbee just had to re-register as cannot find the envelope with password and user name on.
This my question:
Since what was my current Telco and ISP decided to charge for email, switched Telos but no email service. So i have decided to host email myself, getting a domain name is no problem, anyone point me at a cook book for setting up sendmail as a mail gateway please.
