The news came during the intermission of Sunday's matchup between the two teams.
Minnesota was selected on Jan. 1 to host the 2021 event but an opponent hadn't been determined.
It will be the Wild's first appearance in the Winter Classic and their second-ever regular-season outdoor game. The Blues hosted the 2017 Winter Classic and emerged with a 4-1 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks in a game played at Busch Stadium, home of the MLB's St. Louis Cardinals.
The defending-champion Blues entered Sunday sitting first in the Western Conference with 80 points. They've won the previous two meetings this season with the Wild. Minnesota entered Sunday's action with 65 points and sits six points out of a wild-card spot.
