Report: NFL reinstated Burfict from suspension in January

The NFL "quietly" reinstated Vontaze Burfict in January after suspending him for the majority of the 2019 season, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Burfict was banned for a helmet-to-helmet hit on Indianapolis Colts tight end Jack Doyle in Week 4, the latest in a long line of illegal plays by the then-Oakland Raiders linebacker.
The former Cincinnati Bengals standout is set to become an unrestricted free agent and is "serious" about changing his playing style in order to make a comeback, according to his agent, Peter Schaffer.

Burfict blasted Roger Goodell in November in his first public comments about his ban, calling the commissioner "a total b----" for his handling of the veteran's suspension meeting.
The 29-year-old's 12-game ban constituted the longest punishment for an on-field act in NFL history.
