Tua Tagovailoa felt a cold shoulder from the Miami Dolphins when the two parties met at the NFL combine, a source told the South Florida Sun Sentinel's Safid Deen.

The former Alabama signal-caller reportedly left his visit feeling uncertain about whether the Dolphins want him to be their franchise quarterback, and the 2018 Heisman runner-up is questioning the club's interest.

"No one was excited," the source said. "They didn't give any indication of 'he's their guy.' He felt weird, like is this a joke? He's not turned off, but it was just weird."

The Dolphins have reportedly been coveting Tagovailoa since last year when they decided to shed veteran talent and begin stockpiling 2020 draft picks.

Tagovailoa's stock fell slightly after he dislocated his hip during Alabama's season, but the 21-year-old is expected to be cleared in early March and be ready for the NFL campaign. He's projected as an early first-round pick.

Many other prospects and agents have had similar experiences during their combine meetings with the Dolphins, according to Deen.

Miami owns the fifth, 18th, and 26th overall picks in the draft.
