Carolina Panthers cornerback James Bradberry wants a contract worth at least $15 million per year when he becomes a free agent in March, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.

Bradberry is generating interest from just under a dozen teams, including the Washington Redskins, sources told Rhiannon Walker of The Athletic. Discussions between the defensive back's camp and the Panthers don't point toward the club using the franchise tag.

The franchise tender for cornerbacks was worth $16.02 million in 2019.

Bradberry, who ranked third among cornerbacks on theScore's top 25 free agents, amassed a career-high three interceptions last season. The 26-year-old also posted 65 tackles and 12 passes defensed through 15 games.

The 2016 second-round pick allowed only one touchdown and a 70.1 passer rating when targeted in 2019, according to Pro Football Reference.

In 2020, Ron Rivera will be the Redskins' head coach, and he was the Panthers' bench boss when they drafted Bradberry. Washington recently released former All-Pro cornerback Josh Norman, and Quinton Dunbar, the team's 2019 interception leader, reportedly asked the NFC East squad to either cut or trade him.

The free-agency period begins on March 18.
