Report: Chargers likely to franchise tag Henry barring long-term deal
by Caio Miari from on (#503DP)
The Los Angeles Chargers are expected to franchise tag Hunter Henry if they don't agree to a multi-year deal with the tight end, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Los Angeles wants to extend Henry long term but such a deal is unlikely to come before free agency begins on March 18, Rapoport reports.
The 2016 second-round pick has battled several injuries throughout his career. He missed the Chargers' entire 2018 campaign due to a torn ACL but bounced back to amass 55 receptions for 652 yards and five touchdowns through 12 games in 2019.
Henry is ranked first among tight ends on our list of the top 25 free agents.
