The Tennessee Titans believe they have a "pretty good chance" to sign Tom Brady in a head-to-head matchup with the New England Patriots once free agency begins, sources told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

A third "mystery team" is reportedly also in contention to sign the future Hall of Fame quarterback, Fowler added.

Tennessee still values Ryan Tannehill, also a pending free agent, but he apparently wants a lucrative contract, according to Fowler. The Titans are reportedly weighing targeting Tannehill and Brady when the new league year begins March 18.

Brady will hit the open market for the first time in his NFL career. In addition to Tennessee, the 42-year-old's suitors reportedly include the Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers.

Rumors surfaced Tuesday that Brady and Patriots head coach Bill Belichick recently spoke and the phone call "didn't go well."

Titans head coach Mike Vrabel played eight seasons in New England with Brady and the two have a close relationship.

It was previously reported that the Patriots would be willing to pay the six-time Super Bowl champion over $30 million per season, which could make him one of the league's top five or six highest-paid quarterbacks.
