laptop battery life

So i have a Lenovo ideapad Y500. Haven't used it in quite sometime. I am dual booting Win 10, and linux mint(19.3?)
I haven't really used the windows 10 OS, its pretty sluggish. So thats when i decided to dual boot.
Battery just went from 100% to 50, in like maybe an hour, hour and a half tops. using the 'acpi' command, i seem to be using 1% a minute.
Just web surfing, nothing really running in the background.
Maybe i have high expectations, but is this something thats common with linux on laptops?
