The Seattle Seahawks are re-signing defensive tackle Jarran Reed, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Reed, who was set to become a free agent, will land a two-year, $23-million contract to remain with the Seahawks, Pelissero reports.

Reed had a career year in 2018, amassing 10.5 sacks and 50 tackles. He wasn't able to replicate his success last year, though, as he managed only two sacks in 10 games. He also served a six-game suspension for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy.

The 27-year-old has posted 15.5 sacks, 80 tackles, and 44 quarterback hits in 56 games since the Seahawks selected him in the second round of the 2016 draft.

Seattle recorded only 28 sacks in 2019, while allowing 117.7 rushing yards per game.
