Slay hopes Lions' signing of Trufant 'speeds up my trade process'
Detroit Lions cornerback Darius Slay has been the subject of trade rumors for months, and it's apparently starting to get to him.
After it was reported Wednesday night that the Lions are signing former Atlanta Falcons corner Desmond Trufant to a two-year deal, Slay shared his hopes about what could come next.
Congrats to my guy!!!! Hope that speeds up my trade process!! https://t.co/ZQHO3NCGuE

After Detroit dealt safety Quandre Diggs to the Seattle Seahawks in October, Slay voiced his displeasure and said he "wouldn't personally care" if he was moved as well. His name has come up in trade talks ever since.
Slay has spent his entire seven-year career in Detroit and has been named to three Pro Bowls and one All-Pro team.
The 29-year-old has one year left on a four-year extension he signed with Detroit back in 2016 that pays him $10 million in base salary for the 2020 season.
