Peat returns to Saints on 5-year deal worth reported $57.5M
The New Orleans Saints have re-signed guard Andrus Peat to a five-year contract, the team announced Friday.
The deal is worth $57.5 million and contains $33 million guaranteed, a source told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Peat tested free agency after playing out the fifth year of his rookie contract. He appeared at left tackle, left guard, and right tackle during his debut campaign, but has since settled at guard. He made the Pro Bowl in 2018 and 2019 despite missing three games and six games, respectively.
Though his resume is impressive, Peat has drawn criticism at times throughout his career for inconsistent play.
The Saints selected him 13th overall out of Stanford in 2015.
