Video conferencing questions/concerns for telecommuting?

Well, approaching the end of the first week of places I usually work being shutdown (Covid-19) and with not knowing for what length of time this will continue I am looking into video conferencing options for classes/lectures/consultations etc...
What are your opinions of Jitsi: ease of use, quality, privacy etc...? I am looking for a good solution that does not have concerns of corporate spying (aka Microsoft having the lecture/class on file), ease of use for me and the viewers, platform independent etc...?
If not Jitsi, then what do you recommend and why? Please don't start a this is better than that flame war, looking for honest suggestions based on actual usage.
