No audio input after reinstallation (external microphone)

Hi, I have a chromebox CN60. I had Galliumos working perfectly for a couple of years. But after I installed the new Galliumos 3.1, I lost my audio input. Then I tried installing the old galliumos version back and other distros as well but couldnt get the headset on my microphone working again on any of them. Now I have Lubuntu 19.10 on it.
PulseAudio says there are no input devices available.
On Alsamixer, on the HDA Intel PCH card, I unmuted and turn up the microphone volume bar but when I try to record with Audacity, PulseAudio doesnt detect any program recording audio.
My headset has a single 3.5mm jack.
Ive tried several things I found online with no luck.
I need my microphone for work.
