Testing dropline gnome in -current
by giomat from LinuxQuestions.org on (#51EC0)
So yesterday i found out that the dropline gnome project is still alive and recently released some binaries for slackware-current with the latest gnome 3.36.
The packages can be downloaded here http://www.droplinegnome.org/files/3.36/x86_64/testing/
I'm trying to test them but i'm unable to login using xwmconfig and startx, I get the infamous "Oops" screen and a bunch of the following error(s) in the Xorg output:
Quote:
and
Quote:
Standalone gnome apps (nautilus, calendar, etc.) all seem to work fine from an xfce session.
Post here your experience if you happen to test successfully.
UPDATE: i manage to login by executing startx prepending XDG_SESSION_TYPE="x11", since i noticed it was not set in the environment.
No screen lock available because it needs the gdm display manager running. will keep testing
