[SOLVED] How to install a program from a .deb file on Bodhi Linux

I just started using Bodhi Linux Legacy via a live USB on an old laptop. I downloaded a program off of the web and it downloaded a .deb file. However, when I try to open it Linux just downloads the .deb file again rather than installing the program. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, it's my first time using Linux.
