Tom Brady is known for his dedication to personal health, but that didn't stop him from having fun back in high school.

During an appearance Wednesday on Howard Stern's SiriusXM show, the new Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback revealed he smoked marijuana during his teenage years.

"I definitely wanted to fit in with the crowd that went to the parties and had fun and I was kind of friends with those guys," Brady told Stern, according to CBS Boston. "But in the end what kept me from smoking a lot of weed - obviously in high school, you try that and drink and go to parties - but I always felt like I was letting my dad down."

Brady explained that a history of alcoholism in his family helped steer him away from drugs and drinking. However, his father was his biggest influence.

"My dad was always available to me," Brady said. "So in a way when I would do those things, I always felt really guilty. If I woke up the next morning with a hangover, I just felt guilty. I definitely had fun in high school with partying and drinking and smoking weed on occasion."

Brady graduated from Junipero Serra High School in San Mateo, California, in 1995 before playing college football at the University of Michigan.
