Suggestions for an input tablet compatible with Linux + GIMP

Hi, I'd like to know if anyone can recommend an input tablet for drawing that is compatible with Linux and in particular, works in GIMP. I understand there are drivers for Wacom tablets but would like suggestions for specific models that may have worked well for you.
