i can't open ntfs partition on linux
by tazmania from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5242R)
Hi, I'm new to Linux, and it's the best thing that ever happened to me. I have a portable computer dell, after a crash, I start well, but the power PC. for the second time it did not load any operating system. I started it with linux live. In it try to format some partitions of the operating system so that it starts normal. but I did not recognize any partition. Of all this, I am only interested in rescuing a particular partition, since I have photos and videos of my daughter, it is the largest partition after making a testdisk. I was able to recover two partitions out of three. one has linux OS. and another blank. but the one that interests me cannot mount it. In gparted the following error information appears when reading $ MFT: Input / output error;
$ MFT failed to load: input / output error;
failet to mount "/ dev / sda1": input / output error;
NTFS is inconsistent. Run chkdsk / f on Windows and then reboot TWICE!
The use of the / f parameter is very IMPORTANT! He
Software made no modifications to NTFS.
Who can help me use the command described above. I am only interested in recovering that partition as you will understand it is very important to me. I will be very grateful for your support.
