Create Snapshots and send them over SSH

Heyho,
I looked around quite a bit but I do not find a good/easy answer.
I have a nextcloudpi running and once a day (cron) it copies all data to a synology diskstation (waking in up with WOL and copying data with rsync & ssh)
The Problem is I would like to have snapshots, so lets say: keep the last 7 days.
I found some manual and rnsnapshot but this a bit to much for me to understand. Is someone so kind and can help me with it?
