Having trouble with a dot file in a path to a program
by crajor from LinuxQuestions.org on (#52B5P)
I am having trouble in terminal finding a way to execute a program that includes a /.directory name in the path to the program. I am equally sure that a simple fix will be what is given me. I can get to and run the program by typing the command (wine) and the path to the executable including the /.wine folder in the path. But when I try to create an alias to this program, I get not found and no execution. I have seen info on the net to make an easy way to the program by utilizing in properties 'Open with' and choose 'Wine Windows Program Loader', however on my bodhi 5.0 system there is no such choice available. I can only say that to have to type the path to this executable is gonna be a pain to have to do each time I wanna run it. Hence the effort to make an alias, but no success despite looking into possible workarounds to deal with dot folders. Does alias simply not work with hidden folders and files? Or am I just missing something entirely? Any help would certainly be appreciated. Thanks in Advance.
