Manjaro won't boot

Hello, I'm running Manjaro 19.0.2 KDE Plasma on a Lenovo Ideapad 110 laptop. Everything was going fine, until I insalled the 469 updates which Manjaro prompted me to install. I got a black screen saying:
The screen locker is broken and unlocking is not possible anymore. In order to unlock switch to a virtual terminal(e.g. Ctrl+Alt+F2),
loginctl unlock-session 2
Afterwards switch back to the running session(Ctrl+Alt+F1).
I managed to return to the desktop, following the instructions from the black screen. After that I tried to restart and shut down, but both function wouldn't work, so I forced shut down, by holding the power button. When I turned the laptop back on, Manjaro wouldn't boot after grub. I searched the forums, but didn't find a solution anywhere. I reinstalled Manjaro and now it works, but I haven't installed updates yet, because I fear the same will happen. Any ideas on why this might be happening?
