Problem with Evolution (mail program)

I'm running Ubuntu 18.04. I run my own mail server with Sendmail and as a client I use Evolution. The problem I'm having is When I'm composing an email if I click on View->From Override Field I can edit the "From" field, however when the email arrives to its destination it will always show in the "From" field the address of the user as <username>@domainname (the latter as set in Sendmail). On another machine also running Evolution I don't see this problem.
