Linux Ultimate Unbootable USB

I am not totally new to linux. I have been using Mint for six months. I have downloaded and installed various versions of linux but I have not found any one of them better than Mint. I decided to try Linux Ultimate edition despite what some reviewers said about it. I have tried various ways of making a bootable USB drive so as to install it but nothing works. Is there something different about it or am I doing something wrong? I have not had the seme problems with other distros.
