Aaron Rodgers now knows exactly how Brett Favre felt in 2005.

The Green Bay Packers stunned the NFL world during the first round of the 2020 draft Thursday, trading up to take quarterback Jordan Love at No. 26 as Rodgers' potential successor.

While Love is unlikely to replace the two-time MVP anytime soon, social media was set ablaze by the blockbuster move:

Aaron Rodgers in March on the possibility of the Packers drafting a quarterback: "No matter who you bring in, they're not going to be able to beat me out anytime soon."

Can Jordan Love play WR for a few years?

And by trading up to draft Utah St. QB Jordan Love, the Green Bay Packers put 36-year-old Aaron Rodgers on the clock.

Aaron Rodgers on @PatMcAfeeShow: "We haven't picked a skill player in the first round in 15 years, so that would be kind of cool."

Rodgers says whoever the pick is, he'll track down his phone number and welcome him to the team tonight -- if the Packers don't trade out.

Aaron Rodgers just got Aaron Rodgers'd

And so former Packers' HC Mike McCarthy gets a first-round WR in his first draft with the Cowboys.

And Aaron Rodgers doesn't get a first-round WR or RB for the 15th straight year. Packers get his successor instead.

This gives Aaron Rodgers another 15 years to be mad about the draft.

Love this for Jordan Love. He could to do to Rodgers what he did to Favre. Love had 17 picks last season, but there were 9 new starters. "There was a little recklessness in how we called the game," Mike Sanford told me this week. Without much talent, USU needed Love to make plays

The Jordan Love move is really interesting. Aaron Rodgers is under contract through 2023, and has $28m in dead money next year.

So next year GB either makes Rodgers a post-June 1 cut, eats a massive dead cap hit, or they keep Rodgers and sit on their 1st round pick for 2 years

Jordan Love and Aaron Rodgers are represented by the same agency, by the way.

Aaron Rodgers needs a new State Farm agent.

Dont worry guys Aaron Rodgers is gonna love Jordan Love like a brother
