Report: Teams calling Panthers about Curtis Samuel
Though the Carolina Panthers aren't shopping Curtis Samuel, they've received calls from multiple teams interested in acquiring the wide receiver, according to Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic.
The Panthers believe Samuel fits their offense and would require a particularly impressive offer to consider dealing the wideout, Rodrigue adds.
Samuel, 23, posted career highs in catches (54), yards (627), and touchdowns (six) in 2019. The 2017 second-round pick will earn around $2 million in the final year of his contract in 2020, according to Over The Cap.
The Panthers added a standout wide receiver this offseason by singing Robby Anderson to a two-year, $20-million contract. Carolina's receiving core also includes former first-round pick DJ Moore, who led the team with 1,175 receiving yards in 2019.
