do-release-upgrade without intervention
by RichardAB from LinuxQuestions.org on (#52MG5)
I'm running XUbuntu 19.10 and I want to upgrade to 20.04 overnight, without having to watch the screen and hit "yes" and "keep" etc. I'm on a limited Satellite connection and am trying to avoid using up 1-2GB of my data allowance during the daytime. More data is available from 2-8 am.
Other than wake up early and run the upgrade at 6 am, is there a way to make the upgrade unattended?
In earlier discussions I found earlier discussion of "do-release-upgrade -f distUpgradeViewNonInteractive" but the boards from a few years ago indicate lots of problems.
Or, can I download the main packages offline and run them locally in the morning?
Any suggestions?
