Report: Eagles acquire Marquise Goodwin from 49ers

The Philadelphia Eagles acquired wide receiver Marquise Goodwin from the San Francisco 49ers, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The deal involves a swap of sixth-round picks, according to Schefter.

Goodwin spent three seasons in San Francisco. He enjoyed a breakout 2017 campaign, posting 962 yards and two touchdowns, but his production fell off in the last two years while coping with injuries and family issues. The 29-year-old had only 186 yards and one touchdown in nine appearances in 2019.

The Eagles prioritized receiving upgrades entering the draft, evidenced by their first-round selection of Jalen Reagor. Philadelphia received minimal production from their wideouts last season. Like Reagor, Goodwin has the speed to take the top off opposing defenses.

After drafting a wide receiver of his own in the first round, 49ers general manager John Lynch acknowledged he was working to find Goodwin a new home.

Goodwin has two years and over $10 million left on his contract, though none of his remaining salary is guaranteed.

A former third-round pick out of Texas, Goodwin played four seasons for the Buffalo Bills before going to the 49ers.
